Data Deletion
You can delete your Umsiyeti account and all the personal information associated with it at any time. This page explains exactly how, what is removed, and what we are required to keep.
Delete in the app (recommended)
- Open the Umsiyeti app and sign in.
- Go to the Profile tab, then tap Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap 'Delete Account'.
- Confirm with your password or PIN.
- Your account is deactivated immediately and the data is removed within 30 days.
Don't have the app?
If you no longer have the app installed, email us from the address registered on your account and we will process the deletion within 30 days.

Your name, email, phone number, password, profile picture, addresses, saved locations, contacts you imported, services or invitations you created, photos and videos you uploaded, your AI-assistant conversations, your bookings as a client, your messages, and your push-notification token are all removed from our active systems within 30 days of the deletion request.
What we keep, and why
We keep a minimal accounting record of completed transactions (booking ID, amount, date, currency) for up to 7 years to satisfy Mauritanian tax and anti-fraud obligations. Crash and diagnostic logs are kept for 90 days. Anonymised usage statistics with no link to your identity may be kept indefinitely.
Provider accounts
If you are a service provider, deleting your account also unpublishes your listings. Bookings already paid for by clients remain valid until the service is delivered or refunded; we may contact you to honour or refund outstanding obligations before final deletion.
Third-party data
Data shared with payment processors (Stripe, Bankily B-PAY) for completed transactions is retained by those providers under their own retention policies. Crash data sent to Sentry is purged according to its 90-day retention. We instruct OpenAI/OpenRouter not to retain assistant prompts beyond the conversation.
Confirmation
We send a confirmation email when your deletion request is received and a second confirmation when deletion is complete. If you have an outstanding balance or active dispute we will notify you and pause deletion until it is resolved.
